Junior School
Campus & Facilities
The Junior School building will connect both sides of Gregory Terrace in a sophisticated and contemporary manner, its innovative façade serving a dual purpose: a collective representation of, and connection to, 150 years of a broad, liberal education; and a reflection of the students who will learn within the building.
In essence, the Junior School will be a whole school within a singular building—the ‘little sister’ of the Senior Campus. Inspired by the ‘miniature’ concept, the building will be brought to life in both its architectural features—incorporating elements of existing BGGS buildings—and the students themselves. Evoking a sense of innocence, curiosity and playfulness that extends beyond the physical, students will learn in a space that sparks intrigue, wonder and awe, which teachers will foster through innovation and best practice teaching and learning.
Facilities will include a library, tuckshop, specialist learning spaces for Science, Art, Music, and play areas. The students will also leverage the broader campus’ facilities, including the Main Campus facilities, such as the library and theatre spaces, swimming pool, classrooms and nearby green spaces. All students will also use the School’s sporting (Rangakarra) and outdoor education (Marrapatta) campuses, broadening the learning beyond the classroom.
