Campus & Facilities
Senior School
Main Campus
Our Main Campus in Spring Hill is the cultural heartbeat of our School community, while being an historical architectural place of importance for Queensland.
The campus features a range of purpose-designed facilities to support students’ diverse academic and co-curricular needs, as well as engaging public spaces so students can connect and enjoy their lives at school.
Marrapatta Memorial Outdoor Education Centre
Located in the Mary Valley, near Imbil, Marrapatta Memorial Outdoor Education Centre opened in 1987. Marrapatta creates a space for immersive and engaging educational experiences beyond the classroom.
Marrapatta is also home to the Dorothy Hill Observatory (opened in 2017) comprising a remotely operated observatory and telescopes. Named after pioneering scientist and alumna, Professor Dorothy Hill (1924), the Observatory provides learning opportunities across the curriculum.
‘Marrapatta’ holds a special place in our hearts. The centre is a permanent memorial to former staff member Mr John Stamford and his wife Janelle, as well as students Helen Gahan and Jillian Skaines, who tragically lost their lives in a bus accident at Christmas Creek in 1979.
Rangakarra
Recreational and
Environmental
Education Centre
The 13-hectare Rangakarra campus in Fig Tree Pocket is home to our playing fields, with two cricket ovals and two fields, parkland, and a clubhouse and deck. The centre is used for Hockey, Cricket and Touch Football and is also used for training sessions and environmental initiatives such as our ‘Grammar Goes Green’ program.
The main field is named in honour of alumna and sporting legend, Mrs Daphne Pirie MBE, AO (Welsh, 1949), while the lower oval is named for long-serving staff member and alumna, Mrs Pauline Harvey-Short OAM (Harvey, 1971).
