Year 12 students celebrate success in Science and Technology competitions
Congratulations to Emma Wong (12W), Elsie Butler (12B) and Freya Pearn (12H) on their remarkable work with Subject 1 Digital Game.
This innovative physics-themed point-and-click adventure fills a gap in education by making learning engaging for secondary students. Aligned with the Queensland Senior Syllabus, it challenges players with physics-themed puzzles and escape room clues, making learning enjoyable.
Their dedication and commitment have been recognised with two prestigious awards. The team has achieved:
First Place in the Year 11 and 12 Communicating Science category at the 2024 Queensland Science Contest, along with a prize of $250. This contest is organised by the Science Teachers’ Association of Queensland, designed to engage students with inquiry through STEM investigations and projects.
Second Place in the Year 11 and 12 division for South East Queensland, in the Young ICT Explorers 2024 competition. Each team member received a $100 eGift card, a certificate, and valuable feedback from the judges.
This project serves as a fitting conclusion to their secondary schooling journey, showcasing their remarkable talent and dedication to advancing educational opportunities for others. We congratulate our Year 12 team on this outstanding achievement.
