Uralla Club Clothing Drive
A huge thank you to all the staff, students and families who donated so generously to our clothing drive this term. Nine large boxes of clothes will be delivered to the Queensland Children's Hospital Indigenous Health team next week. In addition, thanks to the money raised through our Uralla Raffle at Open Day this year, we also have a large box of new hairbrushes, toothbrushes, slippers and thongs to donate to Bahloo Women’s Shelter—Brisbane’s only young Indigenous women's emergency accommodation service.
The coordinator of Bahloo, Liz McDonald, recently expressed her gratitude: 'Thank you so much for the great work that you do with the girls at school to assist our young women. Anything you do is very much appreciated.'
The Uralla Club is proud to support initiatives such as these and is always looking for new ways to engage with and connect to community. If you are aware of any local initiatives or programs our Service group could engage with, please feel free to email me.
Any students from Years 7 to 12 interested in finding out more about the Uralla Club are invited to visit our Service page on Minerva and join us for our first meeting in Week 2, Term 1 2025 (details to follow in the new year).
Happy Holidays everyone.
