Night Works 17-20 June 2024
As part of Brisbane Girls Grammar School’s Junior School Building construction, work to install an overhead gantry and site offices for Hutchinson Builders will occur from Monday 17 June to Thursday 20 June 2024. As required by Brisbane City Council for traffic and pedestrian safety, works will be undertaken from 8 pm to 5 am.
During these night works, Gregory Terrace will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Traffic controllers will be in place for the duration of the works, and traffic may be stopped intermittently to facilitate gantry installation.
Following the night works, the road layout of Gregory Terrace will change for the duration of the project. These changes include:
- Gregory Terrace being reduced to one lane on the (city-bound) side of the road outside the Junior School Building site
- a 40 km zone outside the Junior School building site throughout the day
- signage installed on Parish, Bradley and Torrington Streets to advise of the works and changes to traffic conditions.
Throughout the project, traffic controllers will be onsite during work hours to oversee traffic flow and management.

Brisbane Girls Grammar School has commenced work on the upgrade and refurbishment of 89 Gregory Terrace on Friday 24 May 2024 to accommodate our new Junior School, which will open in 2026.
Hutchinson Builders has been appointed the contractor for the project and initial building works will involve the installation of temporary hoarding, erection of site offices, and demolition of the existing façade and internal walls.
Site working hours will be between 6.30 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Saturday. The project team will work to minimise any potential construction impacts.
