Julie McKay is considered a leading voice on gender equality in Australia. She is an independent consultant working with both government and private organisations to support leaders to understand the importance of organisational culture and employee engagement for performance. She has previously been a Partner of a global consulting firm, Gender Advisor to the Chief of the Australian Defence Force, and was Executive Director of UN Women Australia for nearly a decade.
Ms McKay was named Young Australian of the Year (ACT) in 2013, and was Chair of Council at the Women’s College within the University of Sydney from 2016 to 2019.
