From the Alumnae Relations Manager

As another year draws to a close, I reflect on the outstanding achievements and contributions of our Grammar Women. With this edition being the 14th publication of Bishbar Blue, I feel fortunate to be able to continue to share the stories of our remarkable women who are making significant impacts in varied fields.

This year I have had the pleasure of meeting two of the School’s oldest alumnae, Maida White (Furness, 1937) and Grace Armstrong (Webster, 1937). These women embody the enduring spirit of Brisbane Girls Grammar School and serve as inspirational figures for current and future generations. These extraordinary women, who have witnessed the world transform in myriad ways, are living chronicles of the School’s rich history.

Unlike Maida and Grace, you may not have graduated 86 years ago, but I thank you for remaining connected, and I look forward to seeing you at a future Girls Grammar event as we mark 125 years of the Old Girls Association (OGA) in 2024, and the 150-Year Sesquicentenary celebration of Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2025.

As we head toward these important celebrations, you can keep up to date with the Grammar Women program, including news and events, the OGA, and Alumnae stories via the School’s website.

In the meantime, I wish you and your family a wonderful festive season and a very happy New Year.
